The Wales Union Learning Fund (WULF) project is funded by Welsh Government to provide learning opportunities for workers living/working in Wales across schools, health and social care.

Working in partnership with union colleagues the following training webinars have been scheduled exclusively for Velindre staff:


Managing Difficult Conversations, 23rd February or 17th March 2021, 09.30 To 12.00hrs via Microsoft TEAMS

Session overview:

Developing personal skills in handling difficult conversations with staff and peers. A highly practical webinar which will review the key ingredients to undertake a ‘courageous conversation’ in an objective and confident manner.The aim is to help participants have a better understanding of themselves and, perhaps more importantly, a better understanding of those for whom they communicate with.


Managing Conduct, 4th or 9th March 2021, 09.30 To 12.00hrs via Microsoft TEAMS

Session overview:

Managers sometimes need to address conduct matters. This webinar will equip you to ensure that the underpinning principles of fairness, equality, reasonableness and justice are applied.

The session will outline manager’s responsibilities in relation to managing individual performance & conduct, describe best practice and understand how to address underperformance in line with organisational requirements.
